UK WORKSHOPS £1250
International locations by arrangement

This workshop focuses on enhancing speaking skills in the contexts your team speak in:
* sitting with colleagues and clients
* standing and presenting
* speaking on screen in online meetings.
This is not a lecture. There’s no slide-deck. This is interactive, practical and personalised. The workshop is in these three parts to reflect how people actually present. Through practical exercises and personalised coaching, participants will improve, in all three contexts:

* voice, pacing and timing,
* body language,
* and message delivery.
The workshop covers essential techniques such as the structuring stories and presentations, handling difficult questions, and communicating effectively in online meetings. Participants will gain valuable insights into effective communication strategies for these diverse settings, including storytelling, vocal and physical delivery, and on-screen presence.

Key Takeaways:
• Improved speaking skills in sitting, standing, and on-screen contexts.
• Enhanced voice, body language, pacing, and timing.
• Mastery of the SHEP structure for impactful presentations.
• Effective question handling and online meeting management.
• Increased confidence and clarity in communication.
The session is bookended with discussions round the table, about the challenges of speaking in all these contexts, skills learned and tips shared from each other and from Chris. In this discussion segments we also explore how to avoid the pitfalls of working with slides. More info and booking below...
Sitting/ Standing/ Screen Workshop
More info
Sitting
In the sitting portion of the session, participants engage in a mini-presentation while seated around a table. The topic for this initial presentation is personal, allowing for a comfortable and relatable starting point. Following each presentation, Chris Head provides coaching on various aspects of communication while seated, including voice, eye contact, posture, energy, timing, and pacing. Participants then have the opportunity to present a second time, incorporating the feedback received and demonstrating noticeable improvement. This section also explores how incorporating a personal perspective into any topic can enhance engagement and connection with the audience.
Standing
In the standing part of the session, participants take turns standing in front of the group and telling a story. The theme is “the most important thing I have learned in my role”. This section focuses on developing skills in vocal and physical delivery, presence, and storytelling structure. The aim is to demonstrate how storytelling techniques can be applied to enhance presentations of any kind, making them more engaging and impactful.
Screen
In the on-screen part of the session, participants explore how they present and come across on platforms like Zoom and Teams. Each participant goes into another space and joins the main session on screen, allowing for exploration of vocal and physical aspects of online presentations, as well as practical aspects like lighting and framing. The skills learned in the previous sections (sitting and standing) are applied to enhance their on-screen presence and effectiveness.

"The sessions with Chris were really inspiring. Chris managed to create a safe setting so people could really engage and participate in the assignments without hesitation. We learned how to break with the usual way of making and doing presentations and received some very good tools to improve the way of presenting. On top of this the sessions were really good for team building."
Victoria Fox, CEO at LIDA (M&C Saatchi)
"At LIDA we have been engaging Chris Head to run his stand-up comedy course. Ten people from across the agency, across a wide range of disciplines and levels sign up. I can honestly say it is a truly brilliant course that I couldn’t recommend highly enough. Its fantastic for the individual - building confidence, self awareness and presentation skills. It's brilliant team building for the team that sign up each year and it is culturally part of our LIDA DNA now. The course culminates in a show. A night the whole agency gets behind and looks forward to. The best value for money training. Chris is simply brilliant.”
