Describe your thought processes or mental health using a comic analogy
In my Zoom stand-up class recently, everyone got to try out describing their thought processes or mental health using comic analogies. I made a video discussing this where I use a couple of the clips we looked at in the class.
In this video, I talk about how you can use analogies in your stand-up for your thought processes and mental health. In my two examples, Rebecca O'Neal uses a gentrification analogy to describe her experience with antidepressants. She states that being on antidepressants feels like her brain is being gentrified. Then Ed Byrne talks about the brain in the context of a man being asked by his partner, "What are you thinking?" He uses the analogy of little men running around inside his head, panicking and trying to come up with a good answer. This portrays the brain's thought process as a chaotic and somewhat unreliable team effort, highlighting the pressure men feel to give the "right" response in such situations. How will you use an analogy for your own thought processes?
